Driving meaningful change
The logistics sector is in the midst of a transformative shift towards sustainability, with decarbonisation at the forefront. The logistics sector accounts for approximately 5-7% of scope 3 emissions for VELUX, so investing time and resources in making meaningful changes can accelerate our collective move towards a greener future.
Enter the Danish Green Freight Network, an exciting new initiative founded by VELUX, The LEGO Group, and Danfoss. This network is dedicated to making a significant impact on decarbonising transportation for the nation's larger companies.
What are scope 3 emissions?
Harnessing the expertise, experience, and innovative capabilities of logistics professionals at member companies, the network is uniquely positioned to drive the decarbonisation agenda for logistics. Together, we aim to accelerate decarbonisation, tackle scope 3 emissions, and help get our planet back on track.
Senior Program Manager, Nadia Møllebjerg, VELUX’s representative in Danish Green Freight Network, couldn't be more excited about the initiative. "Gathering so many of Denmark’s large companies in the network ensures that we can make substantial strides in reducing emissions," said Nadia. "By inspiring each other and leading the way, we can hopefully create a ripple effect, encouraging other companies to adopt similar best practices, amplifying the overall impact on decarbonisation."
Freight Project Manager & ESG Lead at Danfoss, Kasper Noes, represents Danfoss in the Danish Green Freight Network. He comments: “The remarkable aspect of this network is that it is member-driven, providing us with a platform to collaborate with colleagues in the same field across different companies. We are confident that this network will bring valuable insights on how we can reduce our emissions.”
The first official meeting of the network was held at the end of September 2024.
