1t.org aims to empower the global reforestation community to conserve, restore and grow a trillion trees by 2030. As a member of the corporate alliance since 2023, the VELUX Group has joined a cross-industry coalition that supports this vision for forest conservation and restoration.

The SBTi is a corporate climate action NGO that works in partnership with CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI), the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and We Mean Business Coalition commitments. The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) drives ambitious climate action in the private sector by enabling organizations to set science-based emissions reduction targets. The SBTi verified the VELUX Group’s emission reduction targets in 2020.

We hold ourselves accountable to our sustainability targets and initiatives by seeking independent assessments of our progress. The EcoVadis sustainability performance rating is a reliable and trusted assessment based on international sustainability standards. In 2024, VELUX was awarded gold for the second year in a row. We were recognised as having a best-in-class carbon management system in addition to strong decarbonisation ambitions with approved science-based targets.
